About Us

Marchan Medical

Marchan Medical and PAT was created as a collaboration of Mark Chandler, MD and Carl Marino, PT. Both have been developing uses for alternative electrical stimulation devices for over 25 years, culminating in the creation of PAT. Their work together began with the study of  healing wounds with microcurrent when they developed a wound healing device. This research lead them to develop a new microcurrent pain relief product, but the electronics of the time made them too expensive to sell to the public. Recently, however, with new innovations in electronics, PAT was created as an affordable but highly effective microcurrent stimulator for pain relief.

Marchan Medical’s philosophy is to bring this affordable new pain alleviation technology to everyone, whether their pain is acute or chronic.

Dr. Mark Chandler

Dr. Chandler has dedicated most of his professional career to medical research. A graduate of the Medical College of Georgia, he excels in diagnosing medical problems and creating solutions to solve them. Unlike many researchers, Dr. Chandler focuses on both the theory and application of new technology.

Foremost, Dr. Chandler has extensively studied microcurrent therapy, receiving his first patent on a new treatment for chronic wounds in 1991. Since then, he has several more patents with the latest one for a new pain treatment using a portable microcurrent device.

As a founding member of Marchan Medical, LLC, Dr. Chandler will continue his research to bring even more new technology to pain relief.

Carl Marino, PT

Carl is known for his 40+ years as a physical therapist, much of which was in his own private practice where he was an innovator in microcurrent and laser treatments for pain in the 1980’s. He graduated NYU as a physical therapist and has extensive further training in orthopedics, sports injuries and wound care.

He excelled in athletics and received an athletic scholarship to NYU for baseball where he pitched in the College World Series. While in his private practice, he was a physical therapy consultant to the New Jersey Generals of the USFL professional football league in the mid-1980’s. During this time he treated the Heisman Trophy winner, Doug Flutie.

He has extensive knowledge of treatments for pain management and will be regularly contributing to the blog to assist owners of the PAT unit to maximize their results, answer questions and teach about interesting related subjects.
